In short
picked.je lists Jersey gift vouchers. Some you buy directly through us (we take payment, email your code and PDF); most are “Buy voucher” links that take you to the business's own website, where you're buying from them, not us. Voucher purchases are final, redeemable only at the named business, and subject to any terms shown on that voucher's page.
These terms govern your use of picked.je, operated by Clearway Operations, trading as picked.je (7 Clos Morel, La Rue de la Fosse au Bois, St Ouen, Jersey, JE3 2JA). By using the site, buying a voucher, or listing a business, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use picked.je.
1. What picked.je is
picked.je is a directory and marketplace for gift vouchers from Jersey businesses. Each listed voucher works one of two ways:
- Bought on picked.je - you choose an amount and pay through picked.je (via PayPal). We fulfil the order directly: you get a voucher code and PDF by email.
- Bought on the business's own website - most listings show a “Buy voucher” button that takes you to the business's own site to complete the purchase there. In that case, your contract is with that business, not with us - picked.je is not a party to that sale, does not process that payment, and is not responsible for it.
2. Buying a voucher on picked.je
Where you buy directly through picked.je, the price shown is what you'll be charged, processed securely by PayPal - we never see or store your card or PayPal account details. Once payment succeeds, we'll email your voucher code and a printable PDF to the email address you provide. It's your responsibility to check the email address is correct and to check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive.
3. Redeeming a voucher
A voucher is redeemable only at the business named on it, and only on the terms shown on that voucher's page (for example its expiry date and whether it can be redeemed in part). Vouchers are not redeemable for cash. It's the buyer's responsibility to present the voucher code (digitally or printed) when redeeming it, and to redeem it before it expires.
4. Refunds and cancellations
Voucher purchases are final and non-refundable once payment has completed, except where required by Jersey law or where a business's own voucher terms say otherwise. If a voucher code is lost, stolen or used by someone else, we and the business are not obliged to replace or refund it. This does not affect any statutory rights you may have that can't be excluded.
5. If a business can't honour a voucher
picked.je lists independent Jersey businesses - we don't run them, and we can't guarantee they'll always be open or able to honour a voucher (for example, if a business closes or stops trading). If this happens, please contact us at vouchers@picked.je and we'll do what we reasonably can to help resolve it, but we can't guarantee a refund or replacement for a voucher we didn't sell you directly.
6. Listing a business
If you list your business on picked.je, you're responsible for the accuracy of your listing (description, categories, images, voucher amounts and terms) and for honouring vouchers sold through or referred by picked.je, on the terms you've set out. Where you sell directly through picked.je, we'll notify you of each sale and pay out or invoice commission as agreed between us before your listing went live. Merchant account logins are personal to your business - please keep them secure and don't share them.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use picked.je for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
- Attempt to copy, scrape or reuse listing content or voucher codes that aren't yours.
- Interfere with the operation or security of the site.
- Misrepresent your identity or a business you don't own or represent.
8. Intellectual property
The picked.je name, logo and website design belong to us. Business names, logos, photos and descriptions belong to the businesses that supplied them, used with their permission to promote their vouchers on picked.je.
9. Liability
picked.je is provided on an “as is” basis. We don't guarantee the site will always be available or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by Jersey law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss, and for the acts or omissions of independent businesses listed on picked.je. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't lawfully be excluded.
10. Links to other websites
picked.je links to third-party websites, including businesses' own voucher purchase pages. We're not responsible for the content, terms or practices of those sites.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example as picked.je grows or the law changes. We'll post the updated version here with a new “last updated” date. Continuing to use picked.je after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Jersey, Channel Islands, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Jersey courts.
