Jersey Kayak Adventures is the island's only specialist kayak company, running trips along the Jersey Tidal Trail from a base at Ackaless in St Clement. Daily guided tours set off at 10am and 2pm in stable, user-friendly sit-on-top kayaks, with local guides whose knowledge of the coastline, its caves and its notoriously extreme tides turns each trip into more than just a paddle. Shorter sunset paddles suit a slower pace, and private tours of 2.25 to 5 hours can be tailored for more experienced paddlers. For those wanting to go further, the team runs offshore expeditions by charter boat to Les Ecrehous, Les Minquiers and Sark, alongside surfski taster sessions and a full ladder of paddling courses, from introduction to kayaking through to sea kayak leader training. Guides are Wild Life Safe (WiSe) trained, the operation is licensed and inspected annually, and all kit - including wetsuits - is supplied.
