Jersey Seafaris has been running RIB trips out of St Catherine's Breakwater in St Martin since 2012, when the first boat, Seafari Hawk, took out its inaugural season. The fleet has grown since - Seafari Harrier, Seafari Hawk II and the newest arrival, Seafari Phoenix (2024), all Ribquest RIBs with twin 300HP Mercury engines, commercially coded to run up to 20 miles from a safe haven. Each trip carries up to 12 passengers with two or three crew, so it stays a small-group experience rather than a coach-party one. The signature trips head out to Les Ecrehous, a scatter of reefs and skerries six miles off the coast, and Les Minquiers nine miles south, where Maitresse Ile holds Britain's most southerly buildings. Along the way there's a good chance of spotting bottlenose dolphins, and one of the biggest tidal ranges in the world exposes sandbanks and rock pools most visitors never see. Beyond the islands there are runs to Sark, Herm and the French coast, plus lobster picnics on deserted beaches, and private charters for stag, hen and corporate groups.
