Jersey Walk Adventures photo 1

Jersey Walk Adventures leads guided walks out onto the seabed of the Jersey Tidal Trail, an internationally recognised Ramsar wetland site on the island's southeast coast - Europe's largest intertidal rocky zone. Guides Derek, Trudie and Sheila have been walking these rocks, channels and rock pools for over 20 years, and are Jersey Tourist Guide Association and Visit Jersey accredited. Groups are kept deliberately small, and departure points - usually Le Hocq or La Rocque Harbour - are only confirmed once you book, so each walk stays personal and safe as some of the highest tides in the world rise and fall twice a day. The best-known walks, nicknamed "Moonwalks", head out across the seabed to Seymour or Icho Tower at low tide, by day or at night. On moonless nights there are Bioluminescence walks to spot tiny glowing creatures in the dark shallows, and seaweed foraging trips exploring the more than 200 edible species found around the island. Rock-pool Explorations and shorter Beach Walks suit families, while the Sea Foraging & Oyster Trail winds past the largest oyster beds in the British Isles and finishes with fresh Jersey oysters at the Seymour Pub. For the more adventurous, an overnight stay in Seymour Tower itself, cut off by the tide, can also be arranged. A picked.je voucher lets someone choose which of these to book for themselves - a set amount towards any walk, or a specific experience such as a Seymour Tower Moonwalk or Bioluminescence walk - redeemed online by picking a date once tides and availability allow.
