Ransoms Garden Centre has been a St Martin fixture since 1966, when David and Janet Ransom opened it on the site that's now the Tearoom, moving to its current, much larger home in 1991. It's still independent and family-run - today it's the second generation, Katherine and Rebecca, running the business. What started as a plant shop has grown into a proper destination: houseplants and garden stock alongside a pet shop, clothing, barbecues and outdoor cooking, garden furniture, sheds and storage, and a Christmas shop that takes over in winter. Next door is The Potting Shed, a gift courtyard shop stocking homeware, candles, jewellery and children's gifts from brands like Emma Bridgewater, Neal's Yard and Jellycat. Across the way, the Tearoom has been a Jersey institution since 1992, baking cakes fresh daily in its own on-site bakery and serving breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea using local Jersey produce where they can.
