Jersey Oak was founded in the summer of 2007 by Simon Bellwood, starting out designing and handcrafting sustainable furniture on the island. The business has stayed true to those roots - its craftsmen still take on bespoke commissions, working with clients from first sketch to final polish - while growing into a wider Home & Garden retailer alongside the original workshop. The range runs from solid oak dining pieces, chopping and serving boards and coasters through to lighting, storage and living and bedroom furniture, all sourced from sustainably managed French oak forests, with nothing wasted - even the off-cuts go for firewood and the sawdust for horse bedding. Alongside the ready-made pieces, the workshop on La Route du Mont Mado in St John (open by appointment) takes on hardwood flooring, refurbishment and one-off bespoke furniture jobs.
